Matelasse (which means "puffy fabric") shrinks 15% when washed and has a beautiful textural look. It you don't want your coverlet to shrink, we advise you to Dry Clean it. If you want to be able to wash it, we advise you purchase the next size up so it will fit your bed properly after it is washed.
